La Sinistra indipendentista illegalizzata è riuscita a presentarsi alle elezioni, a rinnovare la propria partecipazione in istituzioni di ogni tipo, raggiungendo più volte anche in forma non legale il 15-20% dei voti, in tutte le contese elettorali per tutti i dieci anni da quando è stata illegalizzata. Continua cioè a mantenere con forza l'iniziativa politica.
Negli ultimi mesi in Euskal Herria sta diventando ogni volta più evidente e pubblica l'intenzione della sinistra indipendentista di investire grandi sforzi in futuro nella formazione di quello che viene chiamato Polo Soberanista. Lo stesso Arnaldo Otegi aveva annunciato importanti novità per questo autunno. A nessuno era sfuggito che evitare l'ingerenza politica nel cui fulcro si situa questa iniziativa è all'origine dell'atto di guerra attuato dal Governo spagnolo del PSOE, con la totale connivenza del
Partito Popolare spagnolo.
L'arresto di questi dieci militanti denunciato, oltre che dalla stessa sinistra indipendentista, anche dai partiti Ezker Batua-Izquierda Unida, Aralar, Eusko Alkartasuna e dal sindacato ELA, riuscirà solo a ritardare forse questo processo politico.
